Boerne is the Kendall County seat, with 17,850 residents in 2020 and a lot more traffic than that number suggests. The Hill Country Mile on Main Street is lined with 1800s limestone buildings, while I-10 and TX-46 carry new medical offices, banks, churches and retail centers.
Many of those buildings are meant to look like the Hill Country: standing seam metal, clay tile accents and stone parapets. That means a mix of sloped and flat roofs on one building, and lots of flashing where the two meet. That joint is where we find most leaks in Boerne.
Hill Country architecture means mixed roofs. These are the ones we work on most.
Flat roofs behind stone parapets with metal awnings. Coping and through-wall flashings are the weak points.
Standing seam roofs with low-slope sections hidden behind them. We fix the transitions.
Large sanctuary roofs in metal or tile, with budgets set by boards and building funds.
Newer centers with white TPO roofs and stone facades. First leaks show up around year ten.
Wedding barns, equestrian centers and shops with exposed-fastener metal roofs.
At about 1,400 feet, Boerne is a little cooler than San Antonio, but Hill Country storms hit here first and hail is common in spring.

A frequent Boerne call: a professional office with a standing seam roof over the front and a flat TPO roof over the back half. Water gets in where the two meet. We rebuild that transition with a cricket, new metal flashing and a welded membrane tie-in.
Where limestone meets a roof, sealant alone never lasts. A proper reglet or through-wall flashing does.
