Foam is only as good as the day it was sprayed. We spray in the right weather and recoat on schedule.
Foam and coating over an existing dry roof or a clean deck, with no tear-off in most cases.
Foam seals every screw, lap and rust spot on an old metal roof and insulates it.
Worn coating cleaned and recoated every 10 to 15 years to renew the roof.
Hail dings, bird pecks and blisters cut out, refilled and recoated.
Foam sprayed thicker toward drains to remove standing water.
Coating thickness and foam surface checked each year and after hail.
Thicker foam means more insulation. The coating protects the foam from the sun and is what you renew over time.
Foam thickness · bar = added R-value
About R-10. Minimum for most re-roofs and metal retrofits.
About R-13. Our common thickness over existing roofs.
About R-20. Big cooling savings on uninsulated buildings.
About R-26. Meets typical re-roof insulation on its own.
Top coat options
Best UV and ponding resistance. Our default in San Antonio, often with granules.
Lower cost and very reflective, but not for areas where water stands.
The toughest surface for foot traffic and hail, at a higher price.
We spray roofing-grade foam and coatings from established manufacturers and follow the Spray Polyurethane Foam Alliance’s practices.

| Thickness | 1.5 in minimum, tapered thicker to drains |
| Compressive strength | About 40 to 60 psi, walkable with coating |
| Coating | Silicone, acrylic or urethane, about 20 to 30 dry mils; granules in walk areas |

| Spray limits | Low wind, dry substrate, temperature above the dew point |
| Fire rating | Class A assemblies over approved substrates |
| Service life | 25+ years with recoats every 10 to 15 years |
Infrared or cores find wet areas; those are cut out and replaced before foam goes on.
Roof power-washed and dried, rust primed, gravel and loose material removed.
Cars moved, walls and units masked, wind watched on site all day to control overspray.
Foam built up in passes to the specified thickness, thicker toward the drains.
Base coat and top coat applied before UV can degrade the foam, granules in walkways.
Foam and coating thickness checked with gauges and cores before the warranty is issued.

Roofs with heavy daily foot traffic or lots of wet insulation need a membrane or a tear-off first.

In 2026 most SPF roofs cost about $7 to $12 per square foot over an existing dry roof, depending on foam thickness and coating. A silicone recoat on an existing foam roof runs about $2 to $3.50 per square foot.
Twenty-five years or more when the coating is renewed every 10 to 15 years. Well-kept foam roofs in Texas have lasted 30 to 40 years with periodic recoats.
Usually, if the existing roof and insulation are dry and firmly attached. We survey for moisture first and cut out any wet areas, because foam over wet material traps it.
Large hail can dent foam and crack the coating. Most dings are easy to seal; a urethane or granulated silicone surface resists hail better. We inspect after major storms.
Foam drifts in wind, so we only spray in light winds, watch conditions all day, move or cover cars and mask walls and units. It is the main reason to hire an experienced SPF crew.
Yes, especially on uninsulated metal buildings. At about R-6.5 per inch with a reflective coating, foam cuts heat gain through the roof significantly in our summers.

We scan for moisture, check the existing roof’s attachment and send a photo report with foam thickness, coating options and fixed prices.
